I gotta say, being a long time fan of Star Trek (all but DS9) I loved the new Star Trek movie, it makes star trek hip and cool again while not pissing off the fans. I have heard of some people criticize the new movie for getting a few things wrong, BUT!!!! they got nothing wrong, you see when you “reboot” or “re-image” a series or movie all of the previous applications to it don’t apply , case in point Battlestar Galactica. Without spoiling anything in the movie all I will say is that it is a blast of an adventure and very fun to watch! So go and see it!!!!

H.R. 1913 aims at making “hate speech” illegal, so saying that Homosexuality is a bad thing would be illegal under the new bill. Well guess what Government (if it is anymore, seems like a circus these days) The United States Constitution says:

Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791. Note

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

That’s right, Congress SHALL MAKE NO LAW abridging the freedom of speech. Now you could say that the first amendment is about religion as it references that, but under H.R. 1913 a pastor could be committing a crime when condemning homosexuality. I ask all, it is enough that homosexuality flourishes, but does it have to be shoved in our faces everywhere we turn?
