Episode 99 Finally out!
Jan 25th
That’s right, Episode 99 of AndyVGR is now out!, In this episode I review the Atari Flashback 1, Video below!
As a side note, on the comments section of the flashback review, a viewer said the following:
andy i love your reviews ive seen all of them but i think u might of been slightly harsh on this one,, i mean even u said it yourself… as u went through the games u said.. that was fun… that was fun… that was fun..i mean out of 20 games 17 of them u said u
liked or disliked.. out of them u liked 10 and dissed 7.. now that’s hardly a bad system..and i
mean the controllers… how much are they like the 7800′s were they worse than the 7800′s? come
on andy,, pick ur up game (excuse the pun)
and I couldn’t agree more, so I left the following as a response:
I do see what your talking about, I’ll make myself clear, I really hate the system, the games themselves all except for a few are good, The controllers joysticks just don’t
feel right, they don’t seem to move enough in one instance and to far in another, it’s something you would have to try, especially on asteroids, also since they are small
the buttons are hard to hit while holding it properly so you have to hold it at a different angle
and that cramps your hands.
Also the games are being emulated on the flashback, instead of being ran natively, this causes the game to perform way differently than they should, for instance in
breakout the paddle is almost uncontrollable, they corrected this issue in the second one by
actually remaking the 2600 hardware instead of just running the games on an emulator. I was going
to mention this but sadly didn’t have enough time, at least now people can read these comments.
Thanks for watching, and for bringing this up
