About

History of SRGamers Productions 2003 – Present / SRGamers Clan 1997 – 2009

SRGamers Productions was the name used when several friends after high school decided to start making funny little videos about gaming and just being odd.  Some of the clips include the infamous “drop trow” and the “Jolt Electric Blue” sketch’s.  These funny little clips where then mixed in with in game video of various pc games showing quirky odd moments and / or funny deaths.  SRGamers started as an online clan during 2001, it started with four friends and grew to about fifteen at it’s height, all of these friends all gathered up and LAN gamed on the weekend, so the clan was unique in that it was both online and local.  The clan tag for SRGamers was [SR] and SR stands for “Snipers Retribution”.  The clan was called Snipers retribution because everyone on the clan loved to use sniper rifles in modern PC games.  While SR is no longer a clan several members of the core group still remain in contact today.  In the later years of the LAN party Andy picked up the mantel of SRGamers Productions and started filming AndyVGR and various other projects on the side as a hobby.  Although the clan and LAN party no longer exist, it’s fun, energy, excitement and attitude can be found in every episode of AndyVGR.

History of AndyVGR - Sep. 24, 2007 – NOV. 19, 2011

Andrew Osborne (Andy) started filming AVGRER after an SR clan cookout that included looking at old Atari games, He was instantly washed over with a wave of nostalgia from his past.  So he set out to find an Atari Flashback 2 console, He looked in his local Target where He had seen them before but they where not there, so He decided to order one online.  When the Flashback 2 arrived Andy was so happy that he decided to share it with the world and started filming what would become the first episode of AVGRER (Andy the Video Game Reviewerer)  The extra “ER” on the end of Reviewer was meant to separate Andy from the crowd, but it didn’t instead it made him look like He didn’t know how to spell, but we will forgive yah Andy!  Andy was also inspired by watching several Angry Nintendo Nerd (now Angry Video Game Nerd) videos at a friends suggestion.  When Andy first started filming AVGRER he did it with a low quality webcam and just sat and talked in front of the camera.  After filming the first episode Andy had so much fun that he decided to do it again, the second night.  On the third episode Andy went and purchased a new webcam.  After awhile the webcam wasn’t doing the trick anymore and it was time to move up in quality, Andy purchased an actual camera and constructed a green screen and holder.  2008 was a big year for AVGRER because 2 major things happened, First AVGRER was changed to just AndyVGR to make thing much simpler.  The name change coincided with the “death” of Andy on screen starting with the Haze review and ending with Grand Theft Auto IV.  2008 also marked a big year for Andy in his personal life, He got very sick and couldn’t beat the sickness, Andy went to the doctor and the doctor basically told him to loose weight or suffer at the wrath of diabetes.  Andy went home and started his weight loss that would take until April 2011 to finish, in total He lost over 260 pounds.

The LAN party ended during 2009 but Andy kept filming AndyVGR and continues to today.  AndyVGR is no longer just video gaming reviews, it’s grown into Entertainment, Advice and Fitness as well.  With over 1 Million views and over 100 episodes AndyVGR is a show that endures not only for now but for all time.
